These days there are numerous excellent books on the ethics, the spirituality and the philosophy of the right to choose to die, for and against, and we strongly recommend that you read some of these. There are too many to list here!
Final Exit Network hopes that persons seeking its services have already thought through their ethical and spiritual attitudes to choice in dying. So at this point we suggest more practical books to read.

Final Exit: The Practicalities of Self-Deliverance and Assisted
Suicide for the Dying. By Derek Humphry. Paperback or ebook.
3rd edition. For 24 years this has been the gold standard in 'how-to'
literature on peaceful dying. Two million copies have been sold
worldwide.
This book addresses the advanced thinking, the testing and the
documentation needed by a person about to terminate their life. Advance Directives, life insurance, the law, final notes to family, drug dosages and the helium hood method are explained in straightforward terms.
Along with the book goes an addendum in pamphlet form: "How to Make Your Own Helium Hood Kit" because these kits can no longer be obtained in ready-made form.

Also available is  "Final Exit on DVD" which is Derek Humphry demonstrating on film how the different techniques of hastened death are used.
For those who prefer a gentle introduction to the subject of self-deliverance or assisted dying, Jean's Way: A Love Story, can be helpful.  It is available as a paperback or ebook. This book is the moving account of Derek Humphry helping his first wife, Jean, to end her suffering from terminal cancer at her request.
